Designer tables have been around for a long time. Ever since architecture became a more secular luxury, the need for beautiful furniture grew. If you look at some of the tables for Louis VII in any of his many palaces its extremely elaborate with many of them made from large marble pieces and decorated in real gold.
Modern furniture pieces have taken on a very different function. Tables for one are no longer purely functional. Thanks to Ikea, contemporary furniture that’s designed are now available to the everyday person.
While it may not have the same sophistication as a $10,000 table you can get the same look for a fraction of the price.
Tables form such an important part of our lives. Most of us spent at least 5 hours a day sitting at a table. Whether its for work, for eating or just to decorate a space table designs are truly fascinating. Many designer tables are one-of-a-kind which makes them as collectible as artwork.
Custom made furniture pieces are also much more viable these days thanks to more advanced manufacturing processes.
